VENICE: BOTTEGA SUPPLIES THE FOOD STORE OF NEW T GALLERY

The Italian distillery and winery is selected to represent the Italian wine production at the ultra-luxury megastore of DFS Group, located inside the historical Fondaco dei Tedeschi.

Bibano, September 30, 2016. After seven years of restoration, the 16th Century Fondaco dei Tedeschi will be returned to the Venetians and its tourists tomorrow October 1, 2016. The large historical building, located on the Grand Canal next to the Rialto bridge, is now converted into a 9,000 sq. m department store: it will host fashion, cosmetics and luxury brands, along with local crafts boutiques and food and wine products, offering a distinctive experience of the Italian lifestyle.

For the first T Gallery in Italy, DFS Group selected Bottega as a supplier for a wide range of sparkling wines, red wines, grappa, liqueurs and creams. At the food store, located on the ground floor, shoppers will find also the prosecco Bottega Gold, characterized by the iconic gilded bottle, customised with a "Venetian Gold" tag celebrating the uniqueness of Venice; Bottega Gold was also served at the guests attending the VIP opening party on Thursday October 29. Another expected best seller will be Bottega Limoncino, the traditional sweet liqueur produced with special Sicilian lemons infused in grappa.

The company products are sold in duty free shops of the major airports worldwide, and on board the most important airlines; yet this prestigious Venetian showcase – located 50 km from their production site – represents Bottega’s crowning achievement.

BOTTEGA VS. SANTERO IN COPYRIGHT ACTION

Bibano, July 14, 2016. Following the indictment of Gianfranco Santero, CEO of Santero Fratelli & C, a new judicial hearing is scheduled for December 19, 2016.

This is the latest episode in the trial related to the counterfeiting of the sparkling wine “Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato”, denounced by Bottega S.p.A. in 2012. At the time, the Public Prosecutor’s Office recognised that the Moscato wine called "Moscato Spumante Dolce Tempo", produced by Santero (a winery located in Santo Stefano Belbo near Cuneo, Piedmont) was a blatant copy of “Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato”, produced by Bottega S.p.A. - hence the seizure of all bottles, labels, molds, and cardboard boxes related to the fake product, and their halt at all customs in Italy, was ordered. Santero subsequently petitioned to revoke the seizure, but their request was rejected. In 2013, the Court of Alba ordered the indictment of Gianfranco Santero, with the accusation of counterfeiting the product “Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato”.

The episode reaffirms the originality and authenticity of the protected trademarks and products by Bottega SpA and is a significant deployment in copyright owners' ongoing war against infringement of their works.

BOTTEGA PRESENTS "HIROSHIMA FOR WORLD PEACE" TO HIROSHIMA MAYOR

The Italian distillery and winery sends out a message of peace while raising funds for the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

Bibano, August 26th, 2016. Peace is by far the most precious asset for mankind and it is even more in the early years of this millennium. To remember the devastating effects of the war, every year on 6th August, the world remembers the colossal devastation caused by an atomic bomb dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Last year, to mark the 70th anniversary, Bottega created a blown glass bottle containing a hand-made dove: a universal symbol of peace, and warning against the war. The special three-liter size bottle, filled with a selection of Prosecco grappa, was sent to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum as a tribute.

A year later, Bottega has created "Hiroshima for World Peace": a package containing the small (20 cl) reproduction of the above described bottle of grappa, and a bottle of sparkling wine, called "Peace for the World", whose label depicts a white dove. The packaging also contains a parchment bearing a text that represents a message of brotherhood spread to the whole world and explains the deep meaning of the project. Moreover, proceeds from the sales of this package will be given to the city of Hiroshima.

"Hiroshima for World Peace" was presented yesterday 25th August to Mr. Kazumi Matsui, Mayor of the city of Hiroshima, at the local Town Hall. During the meeting, Sandro Bottega explained its symbolic reasons behind the project: grappa is an emblem of life (the original name “acqua di vita” means “water of life”); blown glass represents transparency and depth of view; while wine represents the work of man and his sincerity. In addition, grappa and wine are two of the key products of Italian gastronomic culture, united in the name of brotherhood.

Mr. Matsui, impressed by the initiative, decided to help Bottega to promote our design. Indeed, he presented the opportunity to exhibit the "Art in Grappa" collection (an anthology of the artistic bottles made in blown glass over the past 30 years) in three museums: a museum of contemporary art, a museum of Impressionism and a museum dedicated to peace – the latter is the most important because it is hosted inside the iconic building erected on the spot where the bomb was dropped.

Since its establishment in 1977, Bottega advocates Social Responsibility towards the environment and the community. Sensitive to global social issues, from time to time Bottega has created themed bottles to mark or celebrate events that have left a deep trace in the history of manhood.

BOTTEGA LAUNCHES NEW SPIRITS AT TFWA 2016 IN CANNES

From 2nd to 7th October, the Italian distillery and winery will be showcasing its new product at the TFWA World Exhibition and Conference.

Bibano, August 22nd, 2016. Again this year, Bottega SpA will participate at the most prestigious Duty Free and Travel Retail show. The global Travel Retail and Duty Free is a crucial market share, in which Bottega have constantly invested over the past twenty-five years to expand its presence, gathering remarkable results. Thanks to the intuition of Sandro Bottega, the current Managing Director who early foresaw the great potential of this business, today Bottega are one of the leading player in this market. Indeed, last year the company has been awarded with two prizes that recognized its leading position: "ATRI Producer of the Year" award given by ATRI (Italian Association of Travel Retail), and “Best Supplier Of The Year” at the Frontier Awards. Bottega products are currently listed in the catalogues of more than fifty airlines and globally present at all of the most important duty free shops. At TFWA show, Bottega will reinforce its visibility in the business, and will showcase the latest products: Bottega "Crema di Pistacchio" (a pistachio cream liqueur) and Bottega “Bacûr” Gin.

Bottega "Crema di Pistacchio" is a creamy yet lactose free liqueur, pleasantly sweet and with a moderate alcohol content, characterized by an intense aroma of pistachio. The finest pistachio seeds are grown at the feet of the Etna volcano, in Sicily: an environment characterized by a unique climate and soil that make the plant grow at their best. Indeed, pistachio seeds have always been used in Italy as an exquisite and healthy ingredient for both sweet and salty gourmet preparations. Inspired by this Italian tradition, and relying especially on the related experience, Bottega created "Crema di Pistacchio", a tasty liquor to be sipped on the best occasions.

Bottega Gin “Bacûr” is a distillate produced in Italy using botanicals like juniper berries, sage and lemon zest. This Italian gin stands out thanks to the fragrant and natural ingredients used in the recipe, that are harvested on the Alps and in the Italian countryside. Thanks to the experience with grappa and brandy, Italian distillers have reached the highest level of distillation techniques over the past centuries – indeed, nowadays most of the oenological machinery and alembic in the worlds are made in Italy and designed by Italian engineers.

Moreover, Bottega are presenting again Bottega “Classico”, Bottega’s first sparkling wine obtained using the Classic Method (the Italian equivalent of the French Méthode Champenoise). It is a brut white wine obtained from Pinot Nero grapes; it has a straw-yellow colour, and a brilliant, fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is rich, elegant, with primary aromas of cherry and rose; compared to sparkling wines obtained using the Martinotti method, it has stronger hints of yeast and crusty bread. The taste is fresh and structured, savoury, with lively acidity. Soft and creamy to the palate, it is an important wine with a gentle and feminine personality.

At stand A11 - Blue Village, Bottega is exhibiting again the Vespa Gold – one of its most successful display props - and is holding free products tastings, every day after 6 pm.

TWO NEW BOTTEGA PROSECCO BAR OPENED AT BULGARIAN AIRPORTS - MAY 2016

TWO NEW “BOTTEGA PROSECCO BAR” OPENED AT BULGARIAN AIRPORTS
Pursuing a project of international scope, Bottega develops the concept “Bottega Prosecco Bar”, that offers the atmosphere of a typical Venetian Bacaro bar to an international audience.

Bibano, 20 May 2016. Partnering with the Bulgarian branch of Lagardere Travel Retail, the Italian winery and distillery has recently opened its latest “Bottega Prosecco Bar” venues, in the duty free areas of Burgas and Varna airports. The two cities, located on the Black Sea coast, are popular as summer holiday destinations amongst Northern European tourists. The first opening was held on May 14, while the second one is scheduled for May 21.

Bottega Prosecco Bars aim at promoting the excellence of Italy in the oenological and gastronomic field and are inspired by “Bacaro”: the typical Venetian taverns, where food - mainly snacks – are eaten at the counter. Bottega Prosecco Bars offer an extensive selection of wines, served along traditional Italian food specialties, that can be enjoyed all day in a relaxed and friendly ambiance. They are designed using warm, natural materials - such as dark wood and gilded metal – while graphic panels on the wall narrate the Italian ethos of eating and drinking.

Managing Director Sandro Bottega explains: “At Bottega we advocate the importance of a healthy lifestyle, based on varied and unsophisticated food, which is innate in the Mediterranean diet. We also believe in the pairing of food and drink, which is why we have created our own food and wine combinations: these are our “Perfect Matches”, fresh and natural recipes made using high quality food of Italian provenance, and paired with the most suitable wines from the wide Bottega range. So we thought of introducing a new and unique experience that could convey an Italian touch and spread the ritual of wine drinking to global destination hubs”.

The project results from the collaboration of various professionals (architects, designers, graphic designers, chefs, wine experts, marketing experts) who worked for two years to finalize the concept. Originally intended as airport bars, Bottega Prosecco Bars can be adapted to any environment, such as downtown, high street and evening consumers sites. Indeed, the first Bottega Prosecco Bar opened aboard the MS Viking Cinderella Cruise in January 2014; the second one was built outside the InterContinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, followed by the one located inside the Resorts World Birmingham (UK), and by a Bottega Prosecco Bar “corner” at Malpensa airport Terminal 1 (Milan, Italy).

The combination of welcoming atmosphere, fine food and quality wines (including Prosecco - favoured for its versatility -, fine sparkling wines, prestigious red wines such as Amarone, Brunello, Ripasso and Bolgheri, dessert wines, grappa, and fruit- and cream-based liqueurs) create an enjoyable experience that enriches the mind and refreshes the soul. With further openings to be announced, Bottega ranks itself as a major player in the beverage sector, valued for its capability to offer different products while pledging quality standards.

BOTTEGA EXHIBITS AT VINEXPO 2016 - MAY 2016

BOTTEGA EXHIBITS AT VINEXPO 2016

From 24th to 26th May, the Italian winery and distillery will be showcasing its latest products in Hong Kong

Bibano, May 3, 2016. Bottega will participate again this year at VINEXPO, the European key event for major international operators in the wine and spirits sector. Here, Bottega will reinforce its visibility in the business, and will showcase the latest products, including the premium quality sparklers Bottega Stardust and Bottega Classico.

Bottega Stardust is a sparkling Prosecco Dry DOC, obtained by the vinification of Glera grapes, grown on the Valdobbiadene hills. Stardust has a rich, creamy, persistent foam and a fine perlage. The color is brilliant straw yellow; the nose has the typical fruity and floral scent of Prosecco. The taste is harmonious, elegant, persistent, and has a good balance between a rich texture and the pleasant mineral notes. Bottega Stardust stands out thanks to its attractive packaging: the traditional dark green glass is entirely covered by a myriad of tiny crystals, bringing to mind a sky full of stars.

Bottega is also introducing a very new product to its range: Bottega Classico, Bottega’s first sparkling wines obtained using the Classic Method (the Italian equivalent of the French Méthode Champenoise). A brut white from Pinot Nero grapes, it has a straw-yellow colour, and a brilliant, fine and persistent perlage; the bouquet is rich, elegant, with primary aromas of cherry and rose. Compared to sparkling wines obtained using the Martinotti method, it has stronger hints of yeast and crusty bread. The taste is fresh and structured, savoury, with lively acidity. Soft and creamy to the palate, it is an important wine with a gentle and feminine personality.

All Bottega products will be available for tasting at Bottega booth – Level 1 / 1-C 67. More information about the show can be found at: http://www.vinexpo.com/en/.

BOTTEGA EXHIBITS AT TFWA SINGAPORE 2016

From 8th to 12th May, Bottega will be showcasing all of its products for the travel retail sector at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition and Conference.

Bibano, March 24, 2016. Bottega will participate again this year at the most important Duty Free and Travel Retail show for the Asia Pacific area. To the Italian winery and distillery, the region represents a crucial market: the managing director Sandro Bottega believes it will reach 50% of the sales on the long term, along with the improvement of the culture of emerging consumers.

Over the past 15 years, Bottega has intensely invested in expanding its global presence also through the travel retail and duty free channel. Thanks to the intuition of Sandro Bottega, who early foresaw the great potential of this business, today Bottega is one of the leading player in this market. Bottega products are listed in the catalogues of more than fifty airlines and globally present at all of the most important duty free shops. In 2015, the sales volume generated by DF and TR business counted for 36% of the overall export turnover, performing an increase of +5% compared to the previous year; furthermore, Bottega was awarded “Best Supplier Of The Year” at the Frontier Awards in Cannes, and “Produttore dell’Anno” ("Producer of the Year") by ATRI (Italian Association of Travel Retail) in Milan.

At TFWA show in Singapore, Bottega will reinforce its visibility in the business, and will display the product novelties. It will also plan marketing activities, publicities with new innovative display, and product trainings; furthermore, it will look for selected listing with Bottega Stardust: a precious, premium Prosecco bottle entirely covered by a “galaxy” of tiny crystals.

This year, Bottega is introducing a very new product to its range: Bottega Classico, Bottega’s first sparkling wines obtained using the Classic Method (the Italian equivalent of the French Méthode Champenoise).

All Bottega products will be available for tasting at Bottega booth – Basement 2, stand M9. More information about the show at: http://www.tfwa.com/duty_free/TFWA-Asia-Pacific-Exhibition-Conference.15.0.html

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO VINTAGE 2011 PRESENTED AT INTERNATIONAL EVENT BENVENUTO BRUNELLO - FEBRUARY 2016

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO VINTAGE 2011 PRESENTED AT INTERNATIONAL EVENT “BENVENUTO BRUNELLO”

At the Montalcino Museum courtyard, from 19h to 22nd February 2016

Bibano, February 17th 2016. Following the success of the 2010 vintage of its Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Bottega SpA – Italian winery and distillery, will take part again in the annual event marking the debut of the 2011 vintage.

Since the turn of the century, Bottega has directly managed its winery in Montalcino, producing Brunello DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Sant'Antimo Rosso DOC. The Conegliano-based company, mainly renowned for its grappa and sparkling wines, has extended the production to provide consumers with other excellent Italian wines under the same reputed brand.

Bottega produces “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from Sangiovese grapes grown in the southern area of Montalcino; this hilly area is rich in galestro, a local rocky and schistous, draining and flaky soil, where the roots of the vines can penetrate deeply in search of water and nutrients. Moreover, the presence of the surrounding hills and majestic Mount Amiata, protect this area from cold winds and hail. The 2011 summer was very hot, especially in August, leading to high sugars in the grapes and a good ripeness; this finally resulted in rich, luscious and fruity wines, good for early drinking.

Bottega avoids the usage of chemicals in its vineyards, as much as possible. The technique of "green manure" (leaving uprooted wild fava beans to wither on a field so that they serve as a fertilizer) provides the nutritive minerals necessary for the growth and development of the vines. Bottega makes Brunello in the traditional way, allowing 25 days of maceration. An ancient technique is used to produce wines that are more dense and aromatic in taste and smell: some bunches are left whole and fermented in the must. Finally, to enhance its character, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels: 18 months in tonneau, followed by 30 months in casks (sized 7.5 to 25 hectoliters).

Bottega “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2011 has an intense ruby red colour with garnet tinges; the nose is clear, fruity and characteristic, with hints of violet and blueberry, and notes of vanilla, musk and spices; the taste is round and harmonious, with elegant tannins and a pleasant and persistent aftertaste. Brunello matches game, red meat, white truffle and mature cheese.

At Benvenuto Brunello, Bottega will also present its Brunello “Prêt-à-Porter”, Riserva 2010: a vintage universally regarded as one of the best of the last twenty years. Aged in wooden barrels for six years, it has a long-lasting bouquet with captivating hints of undergrowth, aromatic wood, berries, vanilla and jam. The taste is elegant, balanced, full-bodied. Combining the worlds of wine and fashion, the American stylist Denise Focil created for this Riserva a luxurious and charming design: a brown faux leather label, framed by metal studs; and a brown faux leather box inspired by a vintage suitcase: equipped with a strap, this collectible piece can be carried with class and femininity - hence the appellation “Prêt-à-Porter”.

A grappa of Brunello di Montalcino and an organic extra virgin olive oil completes the assortment showcased at the event.

Brunello di Montalcino undoubtedly represents one of the highest expressions of Italian oenology. Widely appreciated even outside national borders as one of the finest Italian red wines, it has become a symbol of “savoir vivre”. In 2015, Brunello Bottega was distributed in 47 countries – including French Polynesia and the Seychelles; Canada, Singapore, Belgium and China are the most important markets.

In addition to Montalcino wines, Bottega produces other Tuscan red wines: Bolgheri Rosso DOC, Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Chianti Classico DOCG and a Chianti DOCG.

BOTTEGA PRESENTS ITS AMARONE VINTAGE 2012 IN VERONA - JANUARY 2016

BOTTEGA PRESENTS ITS AMARONE VINTAGE 2012 IN VERONA

The Italian wines & spirits producer, whose Amarone della Valpolicella is distributed in 56 countries, participates at the international preview, held at Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, on 30th – 31st January 2016

Bibano, January 27th 2016. Bottega, renowned for its sparkling wines and grappa, produces Valpolicella wines since 2006. The local winery, currently sited in Pescantina and directly managed by Bottega’s oenologists and winemakers, produces two wines with great personality - Amarone “Il Vino degli Dei” (Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG) and Amarone “Prêt-à-Porter” (Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOC).

Being 2012 a hot year for Valpolicella, this Amarone results in a very concentrated wine, with intense scents of ripe fruit and jam. The vintage shows less territoriality, but it is more balanced of the 2011 vintage and is likely one of the best vintages of the last 10 years.

The international prestige of Amarone (considered an “aristocrat Italian wine”, along with Brunello and Barolo), helped the company to successfully distributing Amarone globally: in 2015, it was sold in 56 countries worldwide – including Ghana, Qatar, Fiji and French Polynesia. Amarone is appreciated in colder areas (Northern Europe) and in countries characterized either by a strong economic growth (e.g. Asia and the Middle East) or by the presence of large communities of people with Italian descent (e.g. South America). This commercial success is also due to Bottega’s strong inclination for export and the synergy created between various Bottega products in some specific channels (e.g. duty free).

The production of Bottega Valpolicella wines - including Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore DOC, Valpolicella Classico DOC and Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC – has reached 149.000 bottles in 2015. Consistent to this development strategy, Bottega will soon acquire a winery located in Valgatara (in the “classic” area of Valpolicella), to extend and enhance the local production: a new challenge that will be soon announced.

About Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG “Il Vino degli Dei” vintage 2012

It is a wine of great structure, balance and softness, whose characteristics are summarized in a name of immediate impact: “Il Vino degli Dei”, literally “The Wine of the Gods”. This Amarone is the tangible result of the commitment of oenologists at Bottega and is characterized by a very dark ruby red colour, hints of black marasca cherry, violet and tobacco. The selected harvest, the drying on racks and the ageing in small oak barrels, make Amarone a meditation wine, or a perfect match with well-aged cheeses, red meat and game. Best served at 18/20° C.

About Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOC Classico “Prêt à Porter” 2010:

This wine, aged for four years, is particularly elegant, has a great structure and a long storage life. The intense aroma has hints of marasca cherry, plum, vanilla and tobacco, and is pleasantly ethereal. On the palate is dry, warm and soft, with spicy nuances and a slight scent of tobacco. The aftertaste is quite persistent.

Bottega appointed the American designer Denise Focil to create an unprecedented, stylish packaging for this special bottle. Combining the worlds of wine and fashion, this unconventional and charming bottle features a white faux leather label, framed by a sequence of metal studs; it is cased in a white faux leather box that recalls a vintage suitcase: equipped with a strap, this collectible piece allows to carry the precious content with class and femininity - hence the appellation “Prêt-à-Porter”.

About Bottega Rose Gold

Bottega Rose Gold is a Pinot Noir sparkling wine, produced with a selection of grapes harvested in Oltrepò Pavese (Lombardy, Northern Italy). The grapes are hand-picked and vinified at a controlled temperature. The skins stay in contact with the must for 24 hours: this light maceration gives a brilliant peach colour to the wine; must and skins are then separated with a soft pressing. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of 18° C. During the year which follows the harvest, the obtained wine goes through the sparkling process: he second fermentation occurs in steel containers, according to the Italian Charmat method at a controlled temperature of 14 °C, and lasts 60-90 days.

The wine appears brilliant with a fine and lasting effervescence. The intense and elegant nose shows a variety of subtle scents and flavours, dominated by floral and fruity notes, especially currants and wild strawberries. The taste is fresh, delicate and silky with a balanced acidity; the wine is medium bodied, and has a long finish.

Bottega Rose Gold is a wine to accompany any meal. It goes particularly well with vegetable oil dip, vegetarian dishes, sushi, fish and cheese. It is also a pleasant after-dinner.

BOTTEGA TAKES PART IN "LA GRANDE DEGUSTATION DE MONTREAL" - NOVEMBER 2015

On 6th and 7th November, the Italian distillery and winery will be showcasing its products available in Quebec.

Bibano, November 6th, 2015. For the first time, Bottega will participate at the prestigious tasting “for wine and spirit aficionados and connoisseurs”, organized by the Association québécoise des agences de vins, bières et spiritueux (AQAVBS) and co-presented by the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ).

Quebec, and Canada in general, are very important markets for Bottega, which has intensely invested to expand its presence in North America over the past years. Indeed Canada is the second most important area for the company. At Eastern Canada’s largest event in the wine and spirit industry, Bottega aims at reinforcing its visibility in the business, by showcasing the products currently available in Quebec: the iconic Bottega Gold and Rose Gold - respectively, Prosecco Brut and sparkling Pinot Nero rosé – Prosecco “Il Vino dei Poeti DOC” (a very popular Prosecco in Canada), Bottega Diamond (sparkling Pinot Nero vinified in white) and Amarone Prêt-à-Porter - a special Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva which is cased in a fashionable, vintage-inspired faux leather box.

A brand new product (not available in Quebec yet) will be also available for tasting: Bottega Stardust, a sparkling Prosecco Dry DOC, obtained by the vinification of Glera grapes, grown on the Valdobbiadene hills.

This year, the spotlight of the show is on Spain, Grenache and bubblies from around the world: hence Bottega – which in Canada is renowned especially for its sparklers - will be one of the Italian stars of the tasting.

NEW ON THE MARKET: BOTTEGA STARDUST - NOVEMBER 2015

The Italian winery and distillery Bottega launches a new sparkling wine, perfect for the festive season.

Bibano, November 6th, 2015. Bottega Stardust is an exquisite sparkling Prosecco Dry DOC, obtained by the vinification of Glera grapes, grown on the Valdobbiadene hills, at the foot of the Dolomites mountains.

This area has a perfect climate for this native grape variety. The wide temperature range stimulates an increased production of aromatic compounds, maintains a good level of acidity in the grape and improves the polyphenolic composition. In the vineyard where these grapes are grown, the ages of the vines vary. The very old vines, some up to 80 years old, only manage to produce a small number of grapes, however they accumulate a higher concentration of substances and noble compounds.

The resulting wine is therefore of a higher quality: Bottega Stardust has a rich, creamy, persistent foam and a fine perlage. The color is brilliant straw yellow; the nose has the typical fruity and floral scent of Prosecco. The taste is harmonious, elegant, persistent, and has a good balance between a rich texture and the pleasant mineral notes. Bottega Stardust is perfect for aperitifs, parties and celebrations; given the level of residual sugar (20 gr/l), when paired with food, it goes particularly well with desserts such as puff pastry and fruit tarts.

What makes Bottega Stardust further stand out is the attractive packaging, that reflects the preciousness of the content: the traditional dark green glass is covered by a myriad of 3000 tiny crystals, which are applied by hand. This decoration brings to mind a sky full of stars, hence the name Stardust.

Both the product in itself, a premium sparkling wine, and the remarkable packaging, make Bottega Stardust perfect for the festive season: whether it is the choice for a cheerful toast, or a prestigious gift.

BOTTEGA "IL VINO DEI POETI" BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG RECEIVES ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL RATING FOR THE 2010 VINTAGE - NOVEMBER 2015

Despite being mainly renowned for the production of grappa and sparkling wines, the Italian winery and distillery Bottega has got positive scores for its Brunello di Montalcino

Bibano, November 10th 2015. The Tuscan wine red Brunello di Montalcino enjoys a distinction as one of Italy’s most favoured wines; widely appreciated even outside national borders as one of the finest expressions of Italian oenology, it represents a symbol of “savoir vivre”. The 2010 harvest is said to be one of the best of the last twenty years, due to the exceptional climate conditions: winter was generally cold, the end of summer was dry and ventilated, hence this vintage will be characterized by bolder, rounder and more full-bodied wines.

Bottega’s “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, has received so far positive ratings from prominent critics and magazines, including James Suckling, the online magazine Jancis Robinson, The Wine Advocate and The Wine Enthusiast. The latest and most gratifying addition is the rating given by the British magazine Decanter: after tasting 99 different Brunello, the panel (composed of three Italian wines experts: Michael Garner, Ian D’Agata e Andrea Briccarello1), deemed that only five wines deserved the rating “Outstanding”: amongst these is Bottega’s “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2010.

Over the past 10 years, Bottega – a company based in Treviso, North East of Italy - has expanded its production by directly managing a winery in Montalcino with the aim of providing consumers with other excellent Italian wines under the same reputed brand. The decision has proved successful: in 2014, Brunello Bottega was distributed in 41 countries – including French Polynesia and the Seychelles; Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil and South Korea are the most important markets.

In Montalcino, Bottega produces also the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG “Prêt-à-Porter” (characterised by a six-years long maturation and the eye-catching packaging designed by the American Denise Focil), Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Sant’Antimo Rosso DOC. In addition to Montalcino wines, Bottega produces other Tuscan red wines: Bolgheri Rosso DOC, Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Chianti Classico DOCG and a Chianti DOCG.

Consistent to this development strategy, Bottega will soon acquire a winery located in Valgatara (in the province of Verona), to extend and enhance the production of Valpolicella wines: a new challenge that will be soon announced.

About Bottega “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

It is produced from Sangiovese grapes grown in the southern area of Montalcino, on steep hills rich in galestro: a local rocky and schistous soil, draining and flaky, where the roots of the vines can penetrate deeply in search of water and nutrients. Thanks to the presence of the surrounding hills and majestic Mount Amiata, the southern area of Montalcino benefits from the protection from cold winds and hail; in 2010 this zone was warmer and less humid, favouring the ripening of the grapes.

Bottega avoids the usage of chemicals in its vineyards, as much as possible. The technique of "green manure" (leaving uprooted wild fava beans to wither on a field so that they serve as a fertilizer) is used to provide nutritive minerals for growth and development of the vines. Bottega makes Brunello in the traditional way, allowing 25 days of maceration; using an ancient technique, some of the grapes are left whole and fermented in the must: the resulting wines are more dense and aromatic in taste and smell. To enhance its character, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels: 18 months in tonneau, followed by 30 months in casks (sized 7.5 to 25 hectoliters).

Bottega “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2010 has an intense ruby red colour with garnet tinges; the nose is clear, fruity and characteristic, with hints of violet and blueberry, and notes of vanilla, musk and spices; the taste is round, harmonious and well-structured, velvety with elegant tannins and a pleasant and persistent aftertaste. Brunello matches game, red meats, white truffle and mature cheese.

BOTTEGA TIGHTENS ITS BOND WITH GLOBAL TRAVEL RETAIL INDUSTRY - OCTOBER 2015

The Italian winery and distillery has been designated “Best Supplier Of The Year” at two different awards during 2015

Bibano, October 26th, 2015. The global Travel Retail and Duty Free is a crucial market share for Bottega, in which the company has constantly invested over the past twenty-five years, gathering remarkable results. This year seems a particularly positive one, since two different organizations recognized Bottega as the leading enterprise in the industry.

On Wednesday, 21st October, Bottega SpA has been awarded with the “Best Supplier Of The Year” at the 31st edition of the Frontier Awards, which took place at the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hôtel Martinez. A panel of six top executives from the industry judged the entries and selected Bottega amongst other five prestigious finalists: Bacardi Global Travel Retail, Buckley London, Lifetrons Switzerland, Mondelez WTR, Versace Escale. “Our judges were highly impressed by several entries in this category” said Helen Alexander, Editor at Frontier Magazine, “but felt this supplier was ahead of the rest in terms of the scope of its distribution channels, its ability to bridge the gap between concessionaire and shop, and the way in which is supports people within the industry”. Sandro Bottega, Managing Director at Bottega, commented: “We are proud and overjoyed: being recognized as Best Supplier Of The Year greatly rewards our efforts and investments in the global Travel Retail and Duty Free market: a key focus for Bottega, whose products are listed in the catalogues of more than fifty airlines and present at the most important Duty Free shops”.

Earlier this year, Bottega had received the “Produttore dell’Anno” ("Producer of the Year") award by ATRI (Italian Association of Travel Retail); the prize is annually given to the Italian company that had most distinguished itself in the Travel Retail channel. Bottega was granted this important recognition, because it represents an Italian case study of best practice, for both the innovative products and the economic results.

Bottega is not new to these awards, having already won the Frontier’s “Best Partnership Initiative of the Year” in 2011 (for the “Duty Free Shop Puerto Iguazú & Bottega Gold Present Italian Drops” campaign) and the Gold Medal Buyers Forum Award in 2010 (for Bottega Gold). Moreover, Bottega was nominated in 2008 for the “Best Partnership Initiative of the Year” (for the Breast Health Institute), and in 2015 for the “Star Product of the Year” (for Bottega Stardust).

Starting in 1989 in the GTR, Bottega has built its international success from scratch and relatively quickly, making its sparkling wines the world's most sold in Duty Free stores (Champagne excluded). Beyond wine, Bottega is renowned for other products, especially grappas and Limoncino: indeed, the Grappa Alexander – characterized by hand made blown glass bottles – was the first product to be available at airport stores, in the early 90's. Today, Bottega is recognized for offering innovative products (some of which - such as Bottega Gold - have become iconic presences at Duty Free shops) and for providing constant support to the brands through promotional activities (ranging from tasting at airports, to the use of highly recognizable props such as a gilded Vespa). In 2014, the sales volume generated by the business counted for 31,9% of the overall turnover, performing an increase of +19,4% compared to the previous year.

BOTTEGA PRESENTED AT BRITISH SUMMER FESTIVALS - SEPTEMBER 2015

Bibano, September 2nd 2015. Bottega Gold Bars at Henley and Edinburgh Festivals reaped a great success, concurring in raising the awareness and popularity of the Italian “glamorous” prosecco.

Summer is music festival season in the United Kingdom, the country where this industry is regarded as the most successful in the world. The inception of modern large-scale music events dates back to the late 1960s; but it was fifteen years ago, when the music industry changed again with the rise of iTunes and MP3s, that they have become unmissable cultural events. Their number, value and popularity have increased significantly in recent years; while Glastonbury is still the biggest pop festival, there are hundreds of other festivals in the United Kingdom, covering a wide variety of genres and offering a larger range of activities, and have gradually moved up the social scale, too.

To target a public of high-end, elegant party-goers and affluent consumers, Bottega - Italian producer of sparkling wine, still wines, grappa and liqueurs - and its exclusive UK importer Catalyst Brands decided to take part at two important UK festivals:

-       Henley Festival, in Henley-on-Thames, 8-12 July
-
Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, 7-31 August

Henley is a very premium conurbation in the UK, while Edinburgh is a very popular festival, with an international appeal, attended by a wider range of consumers; hence, the presence of the brand was designed to reflect the atmosphere and identity of the two events.

At Henley, a Bottega Gold Bar on two levels was set up by the main stage. The glossy, Venetian themed bar echoed the occasion and “black tie” dress code of the festival. Bottega was the only Prosecco focused bar and the only product permitted to be sold around the grounds of the festival (outside the designated bar) and for consumers to take into the concert area.

At Edinburgh – which is a more relaxed, street drinking event - Bottega was present with a branded bar set up in a medieval themed garden, therefore the décor of the bar was “shabby chic” with wooden wine crates as display, rustic style combined with beautiful golden bottles; Bottega was the only Prosecco to be sold on the university run sites and bars throughout the month of the festival.

The two festivals proved to be a good consumer launch event, fulfilling the objectives of getting visibility and helping with ongoing trade listing and general PR: 50.000 people attended Henley, with 110 cases’ worth of stock based on bar takings in Henley, while 100 bottles per day have been sold at Edinburgh. This participation forms part of Bottega's ongoing UK engagement programme to introduce consumers to Bottega's top quality Gold Prosecco at premium events and festivals throughout the year.

The partnership between Bottega and Catalyst Brands, a trading division of Matthew Clark Wholesale Limited, part of the Matthew Clark (Holdings) Limited group of companies, started in July 2014. Since then, Catalyst is the exclusive UK importer of Bottega Gold, Rose Gold and Prosecco DOC, undisputed best sellers of the company. Business expanded significantly in the past year and are expected to increase more, due to the reorganisation of the distribution and the extensive promotional programme deployed by Catalyst.

Notes to editor: About Bottega Gold.

Bottega Gold is a Prosecco Brut sparkling wine, obtained by Glera grapes grown in the Valdobbiadene region. This area is located near to the Venetian Prealps and is characterized by an ideal climate for this native grape variety. The grapevines grow on hilly terrain, in an area of outstanding natural beauty and ancient winemaking tradition. The grapes are harvested by hand, and are then gently pressed in the cellars. The obtained must is then stored in steel containers at a low temperature in order to preserve the freshness. It then undergoes a fermentation in cuve close for forty days at a controlled temperature of 14-15° C with the addition of selected yeasts, according to the “Charmat method”.

Bottega Gold is characterised by exceptionally floral and fruity aromas, as well as its fresh flavour encompassing a dry and fragrant aftertaste. Perfect as an aperitif and well suited to use in delicious cocktails - such as Bellini or Rossini -, it can be suitably paired with starters, first courses, raw or steamed fish, poultry and vegetarian courses.

The bottle’s gold-plating, beyond the aesthetic appeal, serves to protect the wine by preventing any contact with light, thereby preserving the fragrances and freshness and improving longevity. The unique label completes the packaging; the design evokes the plume of fizz rising from the freshly opened wine bottle.

From 19th to 23rd October, Bottega will be showcasing its products for the travel retail sector at the TFWA World Exhibition and Conference.

Bibano, September 20th, 2015. As it did over the past 25 years, Bottega will participate at the most prestigious Duty Free and Travel Retail show. The GTR is a crucial market for Bottega, in which the Italian distillery and winery has intensely invested to expand its global presence. Thanks to the intuition of Sandro Bottega, the current Managing Director who early foresaw the great potential of this business, today Bottega is one of the leading player in this market. Indeed, Bottega has been recently awarded with the prize "ATRI Producer of the Year", annually given by ATRI (a non-profit organization that groups up 50 Italian companies from the Travel Retail business), for both the innovative products and the economic results achieved. Bottega products are currently listed in the catalogues of more than fifty airlines and globally present at all of the most important duty free shops.

At TFWA show, Bottega will reinforce its visibility in the business, and will showcase the latest products. The highlight of the show will be Bottega Stardust, a sparkling Prosecco Dry DOC, obtained by the vinification of Glera grapes, grown on the Valdobbiadene hills. Another novelty on display is Bottega Caramel, a new grappa-based, sweet creamy liqueur with seductive and evocative aromas and flavour of caramel.

Amongst the existing products, Bottega is focusing on the iconic Bottega Gold and Rose Gold - respectively, Prosecco Brut and sparkling Pinot Noir rosé – and Limoncino, Bottega’s version of the popular Italian lemon infused liqueur: the only one on the market containing a percentage of grappa, the Italian distillate. Limoncino Bottega is distributed globally, in over 70 countries on 5 continents, it is sold in the most important Duty Free and Travel Retail shops worldwide, and it is one of the most popular Italian alcoholic products present on board many prestigious airlines, in the in-flight sales channel. It meets the taste of a wide range of consumers, including women and young people, indeed it is one of the bestselling products by Bottega. For the first time since 1996 (year of launch), Limoncino Bottega has broken through the wall of a million bottles per year (figures refer to sales of the last twelve months (July 2014 – June 2015).

Along with the novelties, Bottega is introducing the Bottega Cooler, an innovative fridge created to keep your drinks always cool, in style. It is personalized with the recognizable Bottega Gold design and conceived to support the sale and consumption of fine bubbles while “on the go”, in the GTR sector. With a height of 835 mm, it can hold a total of up to 72 Bottega 20cl bottles (either Gold, Rose Gold, Petalo Moscato or Prosecco DOC bottles), or 12 bottles of Prosecco, or even 20 bottles of Limoncino Bottega cl.50. In 2015, January to date, sales of those four Bottega “mini-bottles” has increased by 62% (compared to the same period in 2014).

At stand A11 - Blue Village, Bottega is exhibiting the Vespa Gold – one of its most successful display props - and is holding free products tastings, every day after 6 pm.

A SPECIAL BOTTEGA BOTTLE TO REMEMBER THE HIROSHIMA TRAGEDY - AUGUST 2015

On the 70th anniversary, Bottega pays a tribute to the Japanese people, remembering the horrific strike in hope to exorcise the fear of atomic wars.

Bibano, August 6th 2015. Since its establishment in 1977, Bottega advocates Social Responsibility towards the environment and the community. Sensible to global social issues, from time to time Bottega has created themed bottles to mark or celebrate events that have left a deep trace in the history of manhood.

Today marks 70 years since an atomic bomb hit the Japanese city of Hiroshima, ending the Second World War yet causing a colossal devastation. On this anniversary, Bottega has created a blown glass bottle that contains a hand-made dove, the universal symbol of peace and at the same time warning against the war. The special 3 liter size bottle, containing a selection of Prosecco grappa, and will be sent as a special tribute to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

A similar 20 cl bottle, called "Peace for Hiroshima" will be produced by the company and sold in Italy and Japan; a portion of the proceeds from the sales will be given to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum to help the Hibakuska people, still alive; Hibakuska is the word by which Japanese call the bomb survivors who have suffered and continue to suffer in body and spirit the prolonged consequences of the terrible radiation.

Notes to editor.

About Hiroshima.

The city of Hiroshima, along with Nagasaki, suffered the ravages of the atomic bomb used for military purposes. Today it is symbol of war madness and hosts a themed memorial. Over the past decades, the city had pursued its development towards normality, but continues to deal with a tragic past.
On August 6th, 1945, at 8:16 am, the American bomber Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. This tragic event has effectively marked the end of World War II. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is become one of the most visited Japanese sites.

LIMONCINO BOTTEGA: A MILLION BOTTLES ACROSS FIVE CONTINENTS - AUGUST 2015

The sales results rank Bottega amongst the first three Italian producers of Limoncino.

Bibano, August 19th 2015. Produced since 1996, Limoncino Bottega has broken through the wall of a million bottles per year, for the first time. The figure refers to sales of the last twelve months (July 2014 – June 2015).

Limoncino Bottega is a sweet liqueur, 30% alcohol, which represents Bottega’s version of “Limoncello”, the popular Italian lemon infused liqueur: it is the only one on the market that contains a percentage of grappa, the Italian distillate.

This result ranks Bottega among the first three Italian producers of lemon liqueurs; the company has built this success also benefiting from the synergies delivered by a structure which is able to provide, under the same brand name, sparkling wines, prestigious red wines, grappa, spirits and traditional Italian liqueurs.

Notes to editor.

About Limoncino Bottega.

Bottega, after a long series of research and experimentation, has produced its own version of “limoncello”. It is produced from fresh and fragrantly perfumed rinds of ripe Sicilian lemons, infused in alcohol, leading to an extraction of essential oils. Lemons are grown according to the organic farming system, without using chemical fertilizers and treatments; they are picked in the sunny citrus groves of the island, and hand peeled to maintain the precious organoleptic characteristics. The addition of the best quality grappa from the Bottega distillery makes it a liqueur that is as smooth and unctuous as it is fragrant.

It can be enjoyed neat, served chilled or on the rocks, cut with tonic water or in cocktails, as an accompaniment to fruit desserts or splashed over ice cream and sorbets; also an excellent digestif, at the conclusion of a meal. The attractive packaging appeals to those who are attentive to natural products and appreciate aesthetic details.

To facilitate its consumption, Bottega has created "Bottega Spritz", a refreshing long drink proposed as a variation of the traditional Bitter Spritz. The recipe follows: 2 parts Limoncino Bottega, 3 parts of Prosecco Bottega, 1 part soda water, ice cubes, half a slice of lemon, mint leaves. Fill a long-stemmed wine glass with ice cubes, a half-slice of lemon and mint leaves. Pour Limoncino in a circular motion, to avoid deposits on the bottom of the glass; add Prosecco and top with a splash of soda water.

BOTTEGA’S GREEN PATH: AN ONGOING PROCESS - JUNE 2015

From building solutions to recycling and organic farming, Bottega adopts greener schemes to effectively grow into a more eco-friendly company.

Bibano, June 12th 2015. The health of the environment is an essential element for life, and one of the most increasingly important commitment of modern businesses is to preserve this common good, by embracing greener policies. Bottega has always proved itself to care for the conservation of the environment, by adopting options that help the company reducing the energy consumption and go a step further towards sustainability. Here is a recap on new and old arrangements undertaken by the Italian winery and distillery.

  1. Green premises. The company's headquarters, located in a 19th century farmhouse in Bibano, Treviso, has been painstakingly restored to preserve the original architectural characteristics and to fit in with the backdrop of 10 hectares of vineyards that are part of the property. The building features highly sophisticated systems that use renewable sources and allow a substantial energetic autonomy: amongst these is the geothermal air-conditioning, that uses water from natural springs (whose constant temperature is 14°C), which is further heated, if necessary, and piped into radiators.

  2. Organic vineyards. The vineyards planted in 2007 around the company premises are grown in accordance with the principles of organic farming. In this land, the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, GMOs and all derivatives is strictly banned.

  3. FSC-certified products. Bottega imposes to its suppliers the exclusive use of FSC-certified paper and cardboard products.

  4. Water free distillery. A new water recirculation system was introduced in the distillery in July 2014. The water used in the distillation process is air cooled by special fans and conducted in a closed circuit. This solution dramatically reduces the water consumption of the whole procedure: the former consumption at full speed was approximately 4 cubic metres per hour, while the new system allows the company to achieve a virtually total saving.1

  5. Biomass-powered distillery. Bottega is now accomplishing the construction of a distillation plant powered by biomass. It will use a renewable energy source of vegetable origin: grape marc. Marc is the solid remains of grape after pressing for juice in the wine-making process, which then makes up the raw material for grappa. After the distillation, worn-out marc is dried using the hot steam from the distillery, thus transformed in the fuel which will then heat the pot stills. Hence, in the future, Bottega and Alexander distillates will result from a process that recycles waste material significantly reducing the production of Co2.

1 At our latitudes, water is still an available resource, but in other areas of the world water is in short supply and leads to conflicts between neighbouring countries. The consumption of water for food production, appears unsustainable with the constant increase of the world population: to produce 1 kg of beef meat, it takes 15,300 litres of water; 1 kg of chicken meat takes 3,900 litres; 1 kg of rice takes 3,400 litres of water; 1 kg of grain take 1,300 litres; 1 litre of milk takes 1,000 litres; a cup of coffee takes 140 litres; a glass of wine takes 120 litres; a glass of beer takes 75 litres; a slice of bread takes 40 litres of water (source: www.genitronsviluppo.com).

BOTTEGA GOLD: WHAT’S INSIDE THE GILDED BOTTLE? - JUNE 2015

Bottega Gold won two prestigious international medals, furthermore attesting the quality of this wine.

Bibano, June 15th 2015. The original idea of Bottega Gold, the iconic Prosecco in a gilded bottle, dates back to 2000, when Sandro Bottega – owner of the Italian winery and distillery - created an eye-catching packaging for its premium quality Prosecco. The fulfilment of the “accessible luxury” concept was key to this product’s worldwide success, but at the same time the shiny bottle led some to believe that it was an attempt to divert from the content’s actual quality.

Yet, recently Bottega Gold was acknowledged with two prestigious international prizes, further proving the value of the wine contained in the bottle:

Both competitions are tasted blind, so that the judges are not influenced by the packaging nor the brand name. These new awards - added to nine previous prizes - recognize the quality resulting from the combination of several elements:

  • Although being labelled as DOC, Bottega Gold is indeed a DOCG Prosecco: the Glera grapes from which it is obtained, are grown and hand-picked in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the DOCG area. Harvesting by hand means that the grapes are selected when picked (according to their degree of maturation and their health condition), and that they are gently handled to preserve their integrity. Nevertheless, the Italian regulation counts that Prosecco DOCG can only be bottled in glass bottles whose colour ranges from transparent to yellow, to green and brown, to black. The gold metallization is not accounted, hence Bottega Gold must be labelled as Prosecco DOC;

  • Bottega Gold is obtained from Glera grapes, but unlike other standard Proseccos, it is produced to order for maximum freshness. In the cellar, just one fermentation is used, directly transforming the grape must into sparkling wine; this unique process preserves in full the characteristics of the Glera grape: scents of white flowers - acacia, wisteria, lily of the valley - and elegant aromas of green apple, pear and citrus;

  • The vineyards from which Bottega Gold is produced, are composed of plants of different ages; this mix conveys the perfect balance of the compounds which deliver quality to a wine: aromas given by older vines, and acidity given by younger plants.

The Italian winery Bottega has always invested in enhancing this prominent product, which has contributed over the past decades in strengthening the global reputation of the Italian producer. The bottle itself is produced with a complex metallic finishing process and has been, over the years, object of many flagrant imitation attempts. Bottega, holders of the product’s patent, have had their rights legally recognized on several occasions.

Bottega Gold is distributed in over 90 countries, is present in 100 duty free shops worldwide (in 2014), and will be available for tasting at EXPO Milan 2015: in the “Wine Library”, on the 2nd floor of the Wine Pavilion denominated “Vino – A Taste of Italy”.

About Bottega Gold.

Bottega Gold is characterized by exceptionally floral and fruity aromas, as well as its fresh flavour encompassing a dry and fragrant aftertaste.

BOTTEGA PRESENTS ITS BRUNELLO VINTAGE 2010 AT ZĂśRICH EVENT "BENVENUTO BRUNELLO" - APRIL 2015

Bottega takes part in the tasting and seminar event organised by the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino at Zunfthaus Zur Saffran on 20th April 2015, to present the latest vintage of Brunello di Montalcino.

Bibano, April 15th 2015. The protagonist will be the wine made with grapes from the 2010 harvest, said to be one of the best of the last twenty years, due to the exceptional climate conditions. Winter was generally cold, the end of summer was dry and ventilated, hence this vintage will be characterized by rounder and more full-bodied wines.

Over the last 10 years, Bottega – a Treviso-based company, mainly renowned for grappa and sparkling wines - has extended its production by directly managing a winery in Montalcino with the aim of providing consumers with other excellent Italian wines (Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino and Sant'Antimo Rosso) under the same reputed brand.

Bottega “Il Vino dei Poeti” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is produced from Sangiovese grapes grown in the southern area of Montalcino, on steep hills rich in galestro: a local rocky and schistous soil, draining and flaky, where the roots of the vines can penetrate deeply in search of water and nutrients.

Bottega also presents its Brunello Riserva DOCG 2009 “Prêt-à-Porter”, which has been matured for six years. The long-lasting bouquet has captivating hints of undergrowth, aromatic wood, berries, vanilla and jam. The taste is elegant, balanced, structured, dry, with a long aromatic persistence. Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2013 and Sant’Antimo Rosso DOC 2014 complete the assortment showcased at the event.

Brunello di Montalcino undoubtedly represents one of the highest expressions of Italian oenology. Widely appreciated even outside national borders as one of the finest Italian red wines, it has become a symbol of “savoir vivre”. In 2014, Brunello Bottega was distributed in 41 countries – including French Polynesia and the Seychelles. Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Brazil and South Korea are the most important markets. In addition to Montalcino wines, Bottega produces other Tuscan red wines: Bolgheri Rosso DOC, Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Chianti Classico DOCG and a Chianti DOCG.

Pursuing a project of international scope, Bottega develops the concept “Bottega Prosecco Bar”, which offers the atmosphere and ambiance of a typical Venetian Bacaro bar to an international audience.

Bibano, 27th March 2015. The Italian winery and distillery, has recently opened its second “Bottega Prosecco Bar” outside the prestigious InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Ideal for ideally business or leisure, the hotel is located just few minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi, the hotel features luxury amenities (including gym, pools, sun terrace, four tennis courts and a Helipad) and offers a view of the city skyline and Arabian Gulf.

Deeply rooted in the Italian tradition of fine wine and food, Bottega Prosecco Bar proposes a large selection of wines, along with traditional finger food and specialties, that can be enjoyed all day in a relaxed and pleasurable mood. This concept, aiming at promoting and enhancing the excellence of our country in the enological and gastronomic field, reflects the core values of Bottega SpA. Chairman Sandro Bottega explains: “At Bottega we advocate the importance of a healthy lifestyle, based on varied and unsophisticated food, which is innate in the Mediterranean diet.

The first Bottega Prosecco Bar opened aboard the prestigious MS Viking Cinderella Cruise in January 2014. There, customers are welcomed in modern and welcoming ambiance, designed using warm, natural materials - such as dark wood and gilded metal - with graphic panels on the wall that will have images related to the Italian ethos of eating and drinking; in Abu Dhabi, hosts are served Italian specialties for lunch and dinner, offered midnight appetizers, or they can simply enjoy a glass of quality wine in a stylish outdoor bar. Indeed, although it was originally intended as an airport bar and for other travelling spaces, the Bottega Prosecco Bar is flexible and can be broadened and adapted to any environment, such as downtown, high street and evening consumers sites.

BOTTEGA GOLD AWARDED AS "MASTER" BY THE DRINK BUSINESS WHILE CELEBRATING ITS 15TH BIRTHDAY - MARCH 2015

The news, announced on the last day of Vinitaly, is particularly significant because of about 100 different Prosecco only two have achieved this title.

Bibano, 27th March 2015. On the occasion of the forthcoming Vinitaly, Bottega celebrated the 15th birthday of Bottega Gold, its popular “glamourous” Prosecco. Coinciding with the conclusion of the show, the British magazine The Drink Business announced the results of the competition The Prosecco Masters: Bottega Gold Prosecco Doc earned the prestigious title of "Master", which goes beyond the traditional allocation of medals (gold, silver and bronze) and which is released only for exceptional wines.

The jury of the 2015 edition of the competition, composed of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers, tasted approximately hundred Prosecco wines in a blind tasting session – which grates the anonymity of the tasted sample. Several medals were awarded to Prosecco labels, yet only two Prosecco can boast the "Master" title: one is Bottega Gold.

The news was particularly welcome, because meanwhile Bottega Gold was marking its 15th anniversary at Vinitaly, with a special celebratory bottle: a 3-liter gilded Jeroboam, reproducing the number 15 (the years since the product launch) and the letter B - to recall the company logo – in tiny crystals.

Over the years, due to its worldwide success, Bottega Gold has been the object of many flagrant imitation attempts. The Treviso-based company, holders of the product’s patent, have had its rights legally recognized on several occasions.

BOTTEGA GOLD CELEBRATES ITS 15TH BIRTHDAY IN VERONA - MARCH 2015

BOTTEGA PRESENTS ITS BRUNELLO VINTAGE 2010 AT MONTALCINO EVENT "BENVENUTO BRUNELLO" - FEBRUARY 2015

In the Museum courtyard, from 20th to 23rd February 2015

Bibano, February 20th 2015. Bottega takes part again in the annual event which marks the debut of the latest vintage of Brunello di Montalcino. This year, the protagonist will be the wine made with grapes from the 2010 harvest, said to be one of the best of the last twenty years, due to the exceptional climate conditions. Winter was generally cold, the end of summer was dry and ventilated, hence this vintage will be characterized by rounder and more full-bodied wines.
Over the last 10 years, Bottega has directly managed its winery in Montalcino, producing Brunello DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Sant'Antimo Rosso DOC. The Treviso-based company, mainly renowned for grappa and sparkling wines, has extended its production with the aim of providing consumers with other excellent Italian wines under the same reputed brand.

On the occasion of Benvenuto Brunello, Bottega also presents its Brunello Riserva DOCG 2009 “Prêt-à-Porter”, which has been matured for six years. The long-lasting bouquet has captivating hints of undergrowth, aromatic wood, berries, vanilla and jam. The taste is elegant, balanced, structured, dry, with a long aromatic persistence.

BOTTEGA PROSECCO DOC NAMED ONE OF THE BEST SPARKLING WINES IN VANCOUVER - JANUARY 2015

The 17 jurors selected “Il Vino dei Poeti” amongst over 750 entries.

Bibano, January 19th 2015. Bottega is proud to announce that “Il Vino dei Poeti” Prosecco Brut DOC has been named as one of the ten Best Sparkling Wines at 11th Vancouver Magazine’s International Wine Competition. The jury, composed of high-calibre experts, deemed this wine a “seriously structured Prosecco perfect for everyday celebrations”.

Produced in the Doc area in the province of Treviso (Veneto), this Prosecco preserves the typical fragrances of the Glera grapes. It is a brilliant, pale straw yellow wine, with a rich and persistent foam and fine perlage. The nose is fruity, flowery, with scents of acacia flowers, apple, white peach and citrus fruits; the taste is fresh, delicate, fragrant and well-balanced. Served at 4-5 °C in a flute, “Il Vino dei Poeti” Prosecco Brut DOC is fabulous as an aperitif and in cocktails as well as with starters, first courses, fish and poultry.

During the last decade, Canada has become one of the most discerning countries in the choice and evaluation of wines. The Canadian market is managed by monopolies which buy, distribute and sell all alcoholic products: this filter guarantees the quality of the wines, educating consumers to a high standard level. Moreover, a recent report from Wine Intelligence indicates Canada at the 4th place amongst the markets which will lead the global growth of the wine in 2015.

Vancouver Magazine Annual International Wine Awards - organized by the prestigious Vancouver Magazine - is the sixth international recognition achieved by this Prosecco, following the Silver Medal at The Prosecco Masters, (UK 2014), the Bronze Award at International Wine & Spirit Competition (UK 2007), Bibenda at Associazione Italiana Sommelier (Italy, 2007), the “commended” praises at Decanter magazine Award (UK, 2007) and the International Wine & Spirit Competition (UK 2003).

BOTTEGA PRESENTS THE VINTAGE 2011 AT ANTEPRIMA AMARONE IN VERONA - JANUARY 2015

The Italian wine & spirits producer, whose Amarone is distributed in 51 countries, participates at the international preview, at Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, on 31 January-1 February 2015

Bibano, January 31st 2015. Bottega, which historically produces sparkling wines and grappa, produces its Valpolicella wines in Pescantina, since 2006. The winery, directly managed by Bottega staff of oenologies and winemakers, produces two wines with great personality: Amarone “Il Vino degli Dei” (Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG) and Amarone “Prêt-à-Porter” (Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOC). The same winery produces Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore DOC, Valpolicella Classico DOC and Valpolicella Classico Superiore Doc.

The international prestige of Amarone, together with Bottega’s strong inclination for export, enabled the company to successfully distribute the Amarone worldwide: in 2014, it was sold in 51 countries, ranging from Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. The first market is Germany, followed by Dubai, South Korea, Singapore, Sweden, Uruguay and Switzerland: a brief analysis shows that Amarone Bottega is appreciated in colder areas (Northern Europe) and in countries characterized either by a strong economic growth (e.g. Asia and the Middle East) or by the presence of large communities of people with Italian descent (e.g. South America).

This commercial success is mainly due to the popularity of Amarone, which is one of the great European wines, and to the synergy created between various Bottega products in some specific channels (e.g. duty free).

Notes to editor.

About Amarone: Amarone Bottega, vintage 2011, is a wine of great structure, balance and softness, which develops an alcohol content of 16.5 °. Its characteristics are summarized in a name of immediate impact: “Il Vino degli Dei”, literally “The Wine of the Gods”.

This Amarone is the tangible result of the commitment of oenologists at Bottega and is characterized by hints of black marasca cherry, violet and tobacco. The selected harvest, the drying on racks and the ageing in small oak barrels, make Amarone a meditation wine, that can be combined with great cheeses and red meats. Best served at 18/20° C.

This important red wine is one of the most prestigious Bottega wines. The brand range includes a wide selection of fine wines, including Prosecco DOC and DOCG, Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore DOC, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Sant'Antimo Rosso DOC, Bolgheri Rosso DOC, Chianti Classico DOCG.

BOTTEGA GOLD: A PROTECTED TRADEMARK - DECEMBER 2014

The prosecutor follows up the lawsuit by the company Bottega SpA.

Bibano, December 1st 2014. “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, as Charles Caleb Colton said, and the gilded livery of Bottega Gold is somehow proud of having inspired several producers of Prosecco, Champagne and Cognac.

The eye-catching bottle, a brilliant intuition of Sandro Bottega, results from a long and thorough study, which perfected a technique that embeds the metallization in the exterior layer of the glass. Bottega always dedicates a primary focus on research and innovation, both in terms of quality of products and packaging development; major investments have resulted in a product that stands the heavy friction of the bottling line, retaining its lustre.

Released in 2005, Bottega Gold –a Prosecco Doc sparkling wine – is now one of the symbols of the company. Along with the fame, frequent attempts at falsification have arrived; finally, as a result of numerous imitations and unfair competition lead by competitors in the field of wine and spirits, Bottega has decided to protect the copyrights of its ideas. Following the recognition of three-dimensional Community trade mark which reproduces the embossed letter "B" on the gilded bottles of sparkling wine, Bottega SpA has deposited a series of lawsuits against countless imitations. As a result, a seizure of approximately 40,000 bottles of wine characterized by a packaging very similar to the patented one, occurred last week in the province of Treviso, Italy.

Other Bottega products have been counterfeited, too: Alexander “Grappa Spray” in Brazil, Alexander “Grappa Platinum” in France, “Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato” in China. In 2013 and 2014, two different trials have pronounced two Italian companies from Piedmont and Lombardy guilty of breaching the copyright laws.

BOTTEGA HARVEST FESTIVAL 2014: A RENEWED TRADITION AT BOTTEGA HEADQUARTERS - SEPTEMBER 2014

Bottega celebrated the beginning of the harvest with the annual Harvest Festival, which this year featured a classical strings trio and the reading of a poem of Andrea Zanzotto.

Bibano, September 15th 2014. Despite the autumnal weather and the unusual temperatures, Bottega celebrated the beginning of the Prosecco DOC grape harvest in the vineyards that surround the headquarters with the ritual event in the sign of the Venetian tradition.

The event, now in its sixth year, took place on September 12, 2014. The “Serenissime Dame Venice Ensemble”, a string trio of female professionals graduated from the Conservatory of Venice, performed merry and joyful songs from the 18th Century Venetian repertoire. The three musicians, virtuoso of the viola, violin and cello, dressed 18th Century gowns for the occasion. Before the concert, Marisa Zanotto - wife of the great Italian poet Andrea Zanotto - read a poem for her late husband. In the late afternoon, actors of the Compagnia de Calza “I Antichi”, rigorously dressed in historical gowns of the Venetian '700, harvested the Glera grapes that soon will become Prosecco.

Immediately after, in the peasant tradition, the grapes were bare foot crushed in traditional wooden vats, by girls dressed in themed costumes. This habit was particularly spread in the Venetian countryside until the Second World War, and resulted in a peasant feast during which friendships, loves and passions were born. The taste of the juice from the first pressing was reserved for the sharecropper who, throughout the year, was in charge of the cultivation of the fields and managed the development of the farmhouse. The evening ended with a themed dinner in the garden, during which the “Serenissime Dame Venice Ensemble”, this time in evening dresses, entertained the diners with a selection of 19th century music, while the actors of the Compagnia de Calza evoked the golden age of the Serenissima Republic of Venice with poems and quotations on wine.

Clients and friends of Bottega from all over the world visited the distillery and took part in this international event. The grape harvest of Prosecco is the most important moment of the season, when all the efforts and attentions dedicated to the grapevine during the year are finally collected. The harvest is done directly by hand by people that patiently pick the bunches without  damaging the grapevine. The 2014 harvest, for the weather conditions, will be remembered as one of the most "demanding" of the story of' Bottega company.

About Bottega Gold

Bottega Gold is a sparkling Prosecco Brut, obtained from the vinification of grapes Glera, grown in the Valdobbiadene area, near the Venetian pre-Alps. The vineyards are located in a hilly area of absolute landscape value and characterized by a perfect climate for this grape variety native. The grapes are harvested by hand; then gently pressed in the cellar. The juice is kept in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature to preserve the wine's freshness. The second fermentation occurs in autoclave (Charmat method) for nearly 40 days at a controlled temperature of 14-15 ° C, with the addition of selected yeasts. Bottega Gold is known for the outstanding fresh flavors of apple, pear and tropical fruit, and the dry aftertaste. Perfect as an aperitif, it is also a great ingredient for tasty cocktails (Bellini, Rossini) and matches well starters, first courses, vegetables and fish. The gilded bottle, beyond the aesthetic impact, protects the wine from any light source, better preserving flavors and freshness, thus giving the wine a longer life.

BOTTEGA RECEIVES NEW ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS FOR ITS ROSE’ WINES - JULY 2014

Bibano, July 16th, 2014. Bottega won two medals at the 2014 editions of the The Global Rosé Masters competition.

Bottega, which is present on the markets of more than 110 countries with grappa, wine and liqueurs, has just added two new recognitions to its full and prestigious record of international achievements.

At the first edition of Global Rosé Masters, organized by the British magazine “The Drinks Business”, Il Vino Dell'Amore Petalo Pink Manzoni Moscato Rosé and Bottega Rosé Gold were awarded respectively with a Gold and a Silver medal. Amongst 89 different rosé wines, tasted by style and price categories, the competition identified the best still and sparkling rosés from all around the world, blind tasted on 10th July by a panel composed of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers.

Rosé trend”, a growing tendency in wine markets, is a relatively recent phenomenon. Traditionally regarded as an uncomplicated summer drink, and mainly disdained among wine lovers, the pink drink has seen its popularity soar during the Noughties. To date, thanks to new – and more open-minded - consumers coming into the wine market, consumption are still growing on a worldwide basis. Rosé wines are enjoyed all year round, likely on account of its improved quality.

Rosé wines, have the sophistication, without the heaviness; are festive, fun, chic and popular especially among women. In the range of rosé wines by Bottega, where Il Vino Dell'Amore Petalo Pink Manzoni Moscato Rosé and Bottega Rosé Gold are respectively the newest and the best seller. These international recognition, which further acknowledges the quality of Bottega wines, are very welcome news for the company.

Insight

Il Vino Dell'Amore Petalo Pink Manzoni Moscato Rosé is an exclusive and very rare wine. This sweet sparkling rosé is obtained by “Manzoni 13.0.25”, a grape variety created in the 1930’s by Prof. Luigi Manzoni (principal of the Viticulture and Oenology School of Conegliano) by crossing Moscato and Raboso vines. The vinification of this autochthonous grape, grown in the Province of Treviso, produces an elegant sparkling wine which is fresh and fragrant, with hints of rose, raspberry and spicy notes of sage, thyme and marjoram, an amazing color and a pleasantly sweet taste. With its low alcohol content, it is suitable for celebrations and special events, and an excellent companion to all major desserts of the Italian and international cuisine.

Bottega Rosé Gold is a sparkling rosé wine, produced with a selection of Pinot Noir grapes harvested in Oltrepò Pavese. The skins of the grapes stay in contact with the must for 24 hours; second fermentation occurs in steel containers, according to the Italian Charmat method, at a controlled temperature for 60-90 days. This peach-colored wine appears brilliant with a fine and lasting effervescence. The bouquet is distinctly flowery with scent of mixed berries, mainly currants and wild strawberries. The taste is fresh, with a good acidity, harmonious, delicate and persistent. Bottega Rose Gold is a wine to accompany any meal. It goes particularly well with vegetable oil dip, vegetarian dishes, sushi, fish and cheese. It is also a pleasant after-dinner.

CIBUS: BOTTEGA AND MARINO TANFOGLIO PRESENT "PAN DI VINO" - MAY 2014

In Parma, Bottega will introduce the collaboration with the Master Baker Marino Tanfoglio.

Bibano, May 5th 2014. Cibus, the international show dedicated to Italian food, will feature the presentation of “Pan di Vino", an unprecedented combination of bread and wine. “Pan di Vino" is an innovative bread created by Marino Tanfoglio, a young artisan baker from Mantua, renowned for his award–winning research activity. Different types of bread, characterized by rich and full flavor, as well as by the high digestibility, are born from his commitment.

Amongst these special breads, “Pan di Vino" is which is leavened with a selection of yeasts of Prosecco wine, and produced with whole wheat flour, rich in those fiber and minerals of which our modern nutrition is increasingly poor. Enologists at Bottega have selected for Marino Tanfoglio two types of wine yeast, used to produce “Bottega Gold” (a wine originated from the hills of Valdobbiadene) and “Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco DOC” (a Prosecco from the Treviso area). The collaboration resulted in two types of fragrant bread, where the aromatic notes of Prosecco are concentrated on the outer crust: in the bread produced with “Bottega Gold” yeast, the notes of apple, pear and tropical fruit are clearly perceived; while the bread produced with “Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco DOC” yeast is characterized by a balanced and harmonic taste. These scents make the bread even more appetizing yet maintaining an outstanding lightness and digestibility.

On Tuesday, May 6th, at 12:00 am, Bottega will host a wine tasting at its booth (Hall 5 – stand L010), pairing the two versions of “Pan di Vino" with a glass of Bottega Gold or “Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco DOC”; traditional cold cuts, cheeses and deli of the Treviso area will enhance an Italian aperitivo, where bread is the undisputed protagonist. More information about the shows can be found here: http://www.cibus.it/en/

PROWEIN 2014: BOTTEGA INTRODUCES THE "PROSECCO BAR" PROJECT - MARCH 2014

n Düsseldorf, from 23rd to 25th March, Bottega will also launch Prosecco “Sur Lie”, Prosecco “Biologico” and other new products.

Bibano, March 17th 2014. At the international fair Prowein, Bottega will present Bottega Prosecco Bar, a concept that brings the atmosphere and ambiance of a typical Venetian “bacaro” bar to an international audience. Deeply rooted in the Italian tradition of fine wine and food, Bottega Prosecco Bar aims at promoting and enhancing the excellence of Italy in the enological and gastronomic field. It offers/proposes a large selection of wines, along with traditional finger food and specialties, to be enjoyed all day in a relaxed and pleasurable mood.

The backbone of the project is the "Perfect Match": the ideal combination between the typical foods of the Italian regional cuisines, fresh and natural recipes made using high quality food of Italian provenance, paired with the most suitable wines from the wide Bottega range. Bottega Prosecco Bar is a new and unique experience that could convey an Italian touch and spread the ritual of wine drinking to global destination hubs.

Originally intended as an airport bar and for other travelling spaces, the Bottega Prosecco Bar can be adapted to any environment, such as downtown, high street and evening consumers sites. The first Bottega Prosecco Bar opened on on January 25th, 2014, aboard the prestigious MS Viking Cinderella, traveling on the route Stockholm – Mariehamn, yet the company will be announcing the openings of more Prosecco Bars at Ritz Carlton in Dubai, Intercontinental in Abu Dhabi and other international locations.

At the fair, Bottega will also introduce various new products, amongst which are Prosecco “Sur Lie" and Prosecco “Biologico” (“Organic”): two interpretations of Prosecco which demonstrate the versatility and its potential, partly still untapped, of this popular wine.

Bottega Prosecco “Sur Lie" is an unfiltered sparkling wine, whose second fermentation occurs in the bottle; it contains a sediment of natural yeasts and may appear cloudy. It is an integral part of the Venetian tradition and represents the roots of this popular sparkling wine; indeed, Prosecco is produced in the province of Treviso since the 19th century, long before the Charmat method was invented in 1910. Hence, one can say that original Prosecco was produced “Sur Lie”: this French term (literally, “on the lees”) refers to the ancient “lees ageing” method.

The grapes of Glera are hand-harvested in the second week of September and softly crushed. After the vinification in white, the wine is decanted and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, usually done around Easter, 1% of must is added to facilitate the second fermentation; as a result, the yeast deposits at the bottom of the bottle.

Prosecco “Sur Lie” is a much more rustic, traditional Prosecco: the “everyday Prosecco” that farm families used to drink in the past. Dry on the palate, fresh and slightly mineral, with delicate bubbles, “Sur Lie” tastes richer than Prosecco; the contact with the yeast, present in the lees, allows the aromas to evolve over time, gradually developing the mild and fruity flavors of Prosecco into more complex and drier notes of crusty bread. Prosecco Sur Lie is also characterized by low content of sulfur dioxide and sugar. Compared to filtrate Prosecco, “Sur Lie” maintains its optimal characteristics for a longer time (over two years). The crown cork is a hallmark of the bottle and recalls the farmers’ tradition.

Prosecco “Sur Lie” is an excellent aperitif, and an ideal accompaniment to picnic food and cold meals. It goes well with pizza, pasta, cold cuts, eggs, asparagus and all vegetarian dishes. Should be decanted before serving, to allow oxygenation and to enjoy it to the fullest.

Bottega "Prosecco Biologico" is the result of vinification of selected grapes grown in full compliance with organic farming standards. In particular, the farming system is characterized by the exclusive use of organic and natural pesticides. In the vineyards, a layer of organic material is applied to the soil to reduce weed growth and improve soil productivity: it is a mulch of used pomace, remaining from the distillation of the grappa. According to the EU Regulation No. 203 of 2012 (which sets 50 mg/l less than wines produced with conventional methods), the use of sulfur dioxide is very limited in this Prosecco. Bottega "Prosecco Biologico" is an Extra Dry sparkling Prosecco, which - compared to other versions of Prosecco – is characterized by a strong aromatic bouquet that enhances the organoleptic characteristics.

Prosecco “Sur Lie" and Prosecco “Biologico” are available for tasting at Bottega stand at Prowein, Halle 3, booth R36.

Bibano, October 1st, 2013. Following the worldwide success of Amarone Prêt-à-Porter, Bottega adds a new item to its fashionable collection.

Just like Amarone, Brunello di Montalcino undoubtedly represents one of the highest expression of Italian oenology. Widely appreciated even outside national borders as one of the finest Italian red wines, it has become a symbol of “savoir vivre”: this awareness lead Bottega to appoint the American designer Denise Focil with creating a luxury and stylish product.

Brunello di Montalcino Prêt-à-Porter is a Riserva DOCG, whose distinctive feature is to be aged for a period of 6 years. It is produced in Montalcino (Tuscany), from Sangiovese Grosso grapes. The long-lasting bouquet has captivating hints of undergrowth, aromatic wood, berries, vanilla and jam. The taste is elegant, balanced, structured, dry, with a long aromatic persistence. This is a meditation wine, which also goes well with game, red meat, entrecôte, white truffle and ripe cheese. Last but not least, this fine wine is very rich in resveratrol, a very strong antioxidant.

HARVEST FESTIVAL: A RENEWED TRADITION AT BOTTEGA HEADQUARTERS - SEPTEMBER 2013

HARVEST FESTIVAL: A RENEWED TRADITION AT BOTTEGA HEADQUARTERS

Bottega celebrated the beginning of the harvest with the annual Harvest Festival.

Bibano, September 17th, 2013. On September 13th, 2013, Bottega celebrated the beginning of the Prosecco DOC grape harvest in the vineyards that surround the headquarters with an attractive and charming event in the sign of the Venetian tradition.

The traditional Harvest Festival, now in its 5th edition, featured the tenor Francesco Grollo as guest of honor. The artist, for this special occasion, has dedicated a special homage to Giuseppe Verdi and Pietro Mascagni, two great composers of Italian melodrama, whose 200th and 150th birth anniversary respectively fall in 2013.

The night ended with a garden dinner, during which the actors of Compagnia de Calza recalled the suggestions of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, with poems of wine and quotations.

Given the health of the plants and the quantity and quality of the bunches, the 2013 harvest is likely to be one of the best of the last 10 years.

About Compagnia de Calza

Founded in 1541 by a group of Venetian nobles whose motto was and is "To entertain while having fun", the Compagnia de Calza is made up of twenty-five families. They plan and organize performances that observe the culture and traditions of Venetian history, calling upon contributions of renowned scholars and artists.

The Calza is loved by its public and feared by those in power. They have the same spirit and have the same initiative as their namesake Compagnie that in the XV and the XVI centuries organized festivals, performances and entertainment in Venice as a mandate of the Republic of the Serenissima. The Compagnia de Calza "I Antichi" – whose colors are red, gold and purple – recall the most genuine popular and cultural traditions of the city and interpret the tastes and the spirit of the Venice of today.

BOTTEGA GROUP OBTAINS IFS AND BRC CERTIFICATIONS - JUNE 2013

BOTTEGA GROUP OBTAINS IFS AND BRC CERTIFICATIONS

Bibano, June 3, 2013. Bottega has obtained two new certifications to provide its customers with quality standards of International recognition.

Bottega Group prides itself in having the standard quality system certification ISO 9001, since 2004, and has added IFS AND BRC certifications as an increased standard of quality.

The International Food Standard certification (IFS) identifies food suppliers on their ability to provide safe products, complying with contractual and statutory requirements. The IFS certification is a model recognized both in Europe and in the rest of the world.

The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety was created in 1998 to ensure that the branded products are obtained in accordance with defined quality standards and are in compliance with the minimum requirements. The BRC can be compared to a reference specification for suppliers and is particularly requested by large distribution groups in Anglo-Saxon countries.

Both the IFS and the BRC standards are related to food safety and are recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), which is an international structure whose main purpose is to strengthen and promote food security throughout the supply chain. Moreover, companies that already have a quality management system according to ISO 9001, or use the HACCP system, comply with these standards more easily, and can leverage synergies from these schemes.

The IFS and the BRC certifications allow Bottega to expand its market, especially in the Anglo-Saxon countries, increasing its competitiveness and granting full compliance with established standards to its business partners.

NEW MARKETS: CHILE AND SURINAME - MAY 2013

CHILE AND SURINAME: TWO NEW MARKETS FOR BOTTEGA GROUP

Bibano, 21st May 2013. The group Bottega has strengthen its presence in South America, acquiring two new markets.

The Treviso company has recently concluded two different commercial agreements for the distribution of its products in Chile and Suriname.

Landing in Chile, historically a difficult market for imported wines and spirits, is a great satisfaction: the Andean country is actually a major world producer and exporter of wine, that has always adopted a protectionist policy in the domestic market.

Suriname, better known by the old colonial name of Dutch Guiana, is independent since 1975. Located between the Atlantic Ocean, the other two Guianas and the Brazilian Amazonia, Suriname has just over 500,000 inhabitants, the majority of which resides on the coast and in the capital Paramaribo.

Beyond numbers, this achievement confirms the undeniable inclination of Bottega to distribute its products in the most remote corners of the planet; this led to reach about 120 countries, including Micronesia, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan and Ghana. This entrance into the markets of Chile and Suriname accomplishes the distribution of Bottega in South America, as the company is already present in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela.

Notes to editor. Bottega Group is a family company located in Bibano, Treviso (45 km North of Venice) that produces and distributes typically Italian premium quality beverage and food products to a global market. Bottega is a three generations business, established in the early 1900s and today led by Barbara, Sandro and Stefano Bottega. Here works a close-knit team of wine experts both in winemaking in the distillation.

The group also manages a winery in Valpolicella and one in Montalcino, where the great red wines of the Veneto and Tuscany, including Amarone and Brunello, are produced.

With the aim of producing and distributing the best of the Italian wines, grappa, liquors and food all over the world, Bottega SpA advocates quality (Italian taste and genuineness), design (expression of the excellent aesthetic character of made in Italy) and Social Responsibility towards the environment and the community.

Vinexpo 2013, Bordeaux, June 16-20, stand Bottega number E280

During Vinexpo 2013, in Bordeaux, Bottega group will present a new wine from the Bolgheri area.

Bolgheri is a village in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci that is at the heart of Maremma, on the foothills of the Colline Metallifere (Metalliferous Hills). The place is famous for its red wines. Due to the particular characteristics of the soil and to the sunny, dry and moderately ventilated microclimate, in addition to Sangiovese, also international vineyards, as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, are well adapted to the area. These grapes provide excellent quality for the different type of wine, between them the famous Supertuscan (Sassicaia, Ornellaia, etc…).

Il Vino dei Poeti Bolgheri Rosso Doc is a intense ruby red wine with garnet tinges comes from a selection of Cabernet, Syrah and Sangiovese grapes. Winy, balanced, saline, structured, it is characterized by small red fruits, plum and balsamic notes, with hints of minerals and spices. The grapes originate from vineyards facing north-south, located at 200-400 meters above sea level. The soils are sandy, clay, with high skeleton, alkali-rich metals. The grapes are hand-picked and pressed with elimination of stalks. The vinification process involves a 20-day maceration period. The polyphenols extraction takes place thanks to daily pump-overs. The wine obtained is then left to rest and in this phase, malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine is then aged in oak casks for 24 months (18 in French oak barriques of 2,25-10 hl) and refined in bottle for a minimum period of 2 months.

VINITALY: BOTTEGA CELEBRATES THE 200th ANNIVERSARY OF VERDI AND WAGNER - APRIL 2013

In the presence of the great baritone Renato Bruson, two blown glass bottles will be presented in memory of these great composers.

2013 is the year of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, two of the greatest composers of all time, who helped to make opera the noble art par excellence. During the year, several theatres, in Italy, in Germany and all over the world, organized special schedules to celebrate the genius of these two artists.
Bottega, invited at its booth in Vinitaly, the great baritone Renato Bruson in order to pay tribute to the lyric culture during the most important Italian exhibition dedicated to wine and spirits. The company from Treviso, through its grappa and its precious bottles, tried to interpret the personality of two great men, by dedicating to them a high alcohol content posthumous homage.
Giuseppe Verdi, full-blooded, thrifty, close to the land and to rural traditions, is ideally represented by a selection of Amarone Grappa, result of the distillation of red grape pomace, previously dried on racks.
Richard Wagner, icy, difficult, cosmopolitan and bon vivant, might have appreciated a delicate Riesling Grappa that originates from perfumed white grapes, characterized by elegant and fruity scents. The German composer was very close to Italy and especially to Venice, where he died in 1883. Venice is where he spent the last two years of his life as a guest of Palazzo Ca' Vendramin Calergi.
The bottles are unique pieces, especially created by Soffieria Alexander to contain those two nectars in memoriam. Verdi's tribute took the form of a 3-liter blown glass bottle that contains a reproduction of the famous black top hat, favourite hat of the master of Busseto. The bottle dedicated to Wagner contains instead a blown glass golden ring, to evoke The Ring of the Nibelungs (Der Ring des Nibelungen), the opera that perhaps best represents the universe of Wagner.
Renato Bruson will enhance the importance of this presentation, thus reinforcing the already strong ties between the world of wine and opera.
The anniversary of these two composers, one Italian and one German, falls in a particular year in which the bilateral relations between Italy and Germany are marked by some misunderstandings. The urgent need for Italy to invest, in order for its growth to recover soon, collides with the dogma of German austerity at all costs. It is not easy to reach a compromise for these two countries that, despite the historical antagonism in football and the recent economic tensions experienced, have been closely interconnected over the last 60 years and have been the two pillars of a United Europe.
The joint celebration in the form of wine and grappa, aims to be a positive sign in order to return to full harmony and understanding between two countries that very often have similar needs.

PROWEIN IN DÜSSELDORF: BOTTEGA PRESENTS WINE AND GRAPPA FROM BOLGHERI - MARCH 2013

Bottega group attends Prowein in Düsseldorf (Germany). This exhibition, dedicated to wines and spirits, grow up during the last years, becoming the most important one for Northern and Eastern Europe.

On March 26th (the last day of the exhibition) the Italian Company, linked to his double nature of winery and distillery, presents at its stand a wine and a grappa of the Bolgheri area.
At Bottega stand the company will offer to the visitors a tasting of the two products: a red wine and a aged grappa.

  • Il Vino dei Poeti Bolgheri Rosso Doc. This intense ruby red wine with garnet tinges comes from a selection of Cabernet, Syrah and Sangiovese grapes. The grapes are hand picked and pressed with elimination of stalks.
  • Alexander Exquisite is the first aged grappa of the Alexander brand, obtained from a rare selection of marcs coming from the zone Bolgheri. The marcs are distilled in copper alembics, where they meet a steam stream that extracts the hydroalcoholic solution and aromas. The product obtained is therefore refrigerated at a temperature of -10° C and then filtered on natural materials, in order to separate the unwanted components that are still present. The grappa obtained is mellowed in smoked barrels. Alexander Exquisite is an amber distillate with a noble and complex fragrance, enriched by clear hints of oak. The taste is full, round, lightly smooth with clear scents of vanilla and hints of tobacco and spices.

AMARONE BOTTEGA IL VINO PRET-A-PORTER: 90 POINTS RATING ON WINE ENTHUSIAST - MARCH 2013

News

Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious American magazine dedicated to the world of wine, published, on the issue of November 2012, the ratings of the last tasting. Among the recommended wines, also our Amarone Bottega Il Vino Prêt-à-Porter, vintage 2006, that achieved a flattering score of 90/100. This Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC vintage 2006 achieved a full appreciation by the editors.
This is the comment that accompanied the judgment: “With the faux leather label and over-the-top carrying case, this Amarone emphasizes its packaging. The wine inside is very appealing, showing bright fruit and cherry notes that are enhanced by sweet tobacco and spice accents. The finish is long and silky.”
All scores between 90/100 and 93/100 are considered by the American magazine as an “excellent category for Wine Enthusiast which is highly recommended by the magazine.”
Amarone Bottega Il Vino Pret-a-Porter is the concrete result of Distilleria Bottega’s experience and efforts. The selected harvest, drying on trellises and ageing in small oak barrels make it a meditation wine and also a perfect choice to match to great cheeses and meats. Serve at a temperature of 18/20° C.
This important red wine is one of the jewels of the line Cantina dei Poeti Bottega. This brand includes sparkling wines Il Vino dei Poeti (Prosecco Doc, Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg, Rosè Pinot Nero and Raboso, Cuvée Chardonnay and Sauvignon), the “glamourous” wines Bottega Gold and Bottega Diamond. Insights

  • Amarone Prêt-à-Porter. Amarone is without a doubt one of the finest wines from the Northeastern part of Italy and along with Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino, represents the highest expression of Italian oenology. Widely appreciated even outside national borders, Amarone has become a symbol of “savoir vivre”. Combining the worlds of wine and fashion, the American stylist Denise Focil, creator of the collection Alpinestars by Denise Focil, designed for Distilleria Bottega a fashion bottle of huge and immediate impact. The union between glass and leather originated an object which has an unconventional and elegant charm. The traditional bottle has been enhanced with a label imprinted on a white leather rectangle, framed by a sequence of metal studs. The stylist created a bottle-sized case: it is in leather as well and it has a strap meant for carrying with class and femininity its rare content. Hence the appellation “Il Vino Pret-a-Porter” (Pret-a-Porter Wine), which peeps at the world of fashion and brings out a completely original presentation.

Bottega Rose Gold is the new sparkling wine that completes the glamorous Bottega wine collection. It follows the worldwide success of Bottega Gold.
