Bottega present at Benevento Brunello 2019
8 February 2019From 15th to 18th February, we will be present at “Benvenuto Brunello”, the event organized by the Consortium Brunello di Montalcino for the presentation of the new vintage of Brunello di Montalcino and the other wines of the territory.
For over 25 years, the Consortium has been organizing their main event in February. This year in particular, for the first time, the event will also have a name: “Elegance at the test”, a concept about which two important events will take place at the Teatro degli Astrusi.
The wine tasting remains true heart of the event: Brunello 2014, Brunello Riserva 2013, Rosso 2017, Moscadello and Sant’Antimo. It will take place in the picturesque setting of the Complex of Sant’Agostino.
The protagonists of our selection are: Il Vino dei Poeti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva Prêt-à-Porter.
Il Vino dei Poeti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is obtained using Sangiovese grapes cultivated in the south-eastern area of Montalcino, characterized by sloping hills rich in galestro. The traditional technique used to produce this wine gives a full body and an intense aroma to this wine. To enhance the character, it is aged for about 3 years in Slavonian oak casks: 30% in 5-hectoliter tonneaux and 70% in bigger barrels with a capacity of 7,5-25 hectolitres.
The 5-year aging makes Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva Prêt-à-Porter extremely potent, full-bodied and persistent.
Brunello and Brunello Riserva have an elegant ruby red colour and complex fruity aromas. They match red meat, white truffle and mature cheeses.
