BOTTEGA: PREVIEW OF THE NEW PROSECCO ROSÉ

5 June 2020

The company Bottega, winery and distillery in Bibano di Godega (TV), presents a preview of the new Prosecco Doc Rosé, which from October 1st will be available on the Italian market.

The new sparkling wine, which maintains the freshness and versatility of Prosecco, will be produced with a blend of Glera and Pinot Noir. The grapes of the well-known international grape variety will contribute to give this Prosecco its characteristic rosé colour, a more consistent perlage and greater aromatic complexity.

The innovative rosé version, which has been talked about for some years now, represents an important innovation for the world of Prosecco Doc and sparkling wines. In this regard, the technical committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry has formulated a proposal to change the production regulations for Prosecco Doc Prosecco, which provides for the introduction of the Rosé type.  Publication in the Gazzetta Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana is scheduled for mid-June.
From August 1, the wineries will then be able to start sparkling wine production of the new type of Prosecco Doc, which requires a fermentation period of at least 60 days in autoclaves.

The new product in the Bottega range has been named Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco Doc Rosé. The traditional flame-shaped label will distinguish this new product, an integral part of the Bottega range of sparkling wines.

This wine is characterized by its rosé color and fine and persistent perlage. The nose is dominated by fruity hints of cherry and berries, which accompany the delicate floral notes. On the palate it is fresh, lively and pleasantly dry with a good retro-olfactory persistence.
